Frequently Asked Questions
What is "next day service"?
When shipping cargo using scheduled commercial and cargo airline services, next day service generally means that the
airline has 24 hours to move the freight from the time it was consigned to the airline, barring any weather delays.
This service is generally more expensive than general or "deferred cargo" as the expectation is that any freight
designated "next day service" will get any available space on a given flight before any general freight. As airfreight
implies a consolidation of freight from multiple customers with a larger window time for delivery, any customer
wishing to have exclusive transportation within a shorter window time should consider chartering as an option.
How much freight can you fit in a Lear Jet?
Approximately 1 skid worth of small boxes. At least 2 dimensions of any box cannot exceed 34X34, as the door
on a Lear is quite narrow. The average Lear can carry approximately 1800 lbs, depending on the size of Lear.
Some can carry more, and some, less.
I did the same trip yesterday, why is the price higher today?
The same aircraft may not be available today or we may not
be able to get a cost saver /one way flight. Each day offers a different set of parameters for the available aircraft as
their locations are not static. Our team attempts to search the market each and every time to offer the client the most
cost effective means to meet their parameters as well.
This works both ways, however. We may be able to get you a better price today than yesterday.
What happens if the weight or dimensions change?
When you lease an aircraft, you can use up all available space, as long as the freight fits and the weight restrictions
are respected. So if you happen to have more freight than anticipated, it's a good idea to maximize the usage of the
aircraft. After all, you are paying for the whole aircraft. A dilemma occurs, however, when the freight parameters
exceed the capabilities of the aircraft. There may be an extra 3"knob on the racks that the shipper forgot to mention,
or the original weight quoted to us was in pounds but the weight should have been quoted in kilograms, effectively
doubling the weight. The door size, interior shape of the aircraft and weight restrictions limit the use of the
aircraft, so it is essential that all the details regarding the freight are accurate, right from the start. Our Air
Logistics Experts can still find a solution for you Either get a new, larger aircraft or ship the balance of the
freight on another, smaller aircraft. Of course, there is an extra charge for the second aircraft option. The key to
being cost effective is to match the freight to the proper aircraft and maximize the usage of the aircraft, the first
time around.
Can we take the freight door to door?
Yes, 90% of our charters are door to door as we have the contacts etc. for any
airport in North America.
Do you take care of customs?
We would be happy to relay the details of the shipment transportation to your broker and forward any pertinent paperwork
you have prepared. We will also make arrangements for a customs agent to be present, when necessary, and include both the
broker and the customs office in our communication circle to keep them updated on the shipment. This ensures rapid
clearance of freight.
Do you fly passengers?
At this time, we do not offer passenger service. However, it is possible to include one passenger to fly with the
freight, depending on the carrier used and insurance requirements. This type of service works well for engineers or
mechanics who are required to install or supervise the installation of the cargo.
